Ma'agal: Jewish Time, European Space
Ma’agal (מַעֲגָל - circle) is a pan-European Jewish calendar that is art, history, and a manifesto all rolled up into one!
Ma’agal (מַעֲגָל), meaning circle, a pan-european Jewish calendar that is art, history, and a manifesto all rolled up into one. It features holidays and cultural events, while highlighting some of the European Jews whose actions created ripples that are still being felt today.
The next time you’re wondering when to celebrate the birth of Rosa Luxemburg (12 Adar 5783) or plan for Pesach (5 April 2023), the answers will be at your fingertips. We hope this will inspire you and renew the legacy of our ancestors and demonstrate the significance of Jews to European culture and society.
Ma’agal calendar is a joint project of Oy Vey, Ze Kollel, and JCC Prague.
It is made possible through the generosity of Paideia, the European Institute of Jewish Studies in Stockholm.
